Epi-Retinal Membrane

  • Epi-retinal membrane (ERM) or ‘macular pucker’ is a cellophane-like membrane that grows over the central part of the retina. It usually occurs in people over the age of 55 and is noticed when vision becomes blurred or distorted.
  • A retinal surgeon can remove the membrane by performing a very delicate operation inside the eye.
