Chorodial Neovascular Membrane (CNVM)
- A membrane that grows beneath the retina as part of the disease known as Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
- It causes blurred, distorted and greyed-out areas in the central visual field
- AMD is now being successfully treated with a series of anti-VEGF injections (Avastin or Lucentis) into the eye
